So he’s a global mega-star. He’s been in some of the biggest grossing films of all time. He’s one of the highest paid Hollywood actors. He’s been nominated for 2 Golden Globes and 2 BAFTA awards. He can do comedy and serious. Could he be any more impressive. Yes.

Despite all that, what really impresses people is when you say he can speak French fluently – have you seen the video? Say what…Bradley Cooper is fluent in French? Oui.

So to add to our long list of benefits of learning a second language….we must add “it really impresses monolinguals”. Especially when they’re not expecting you to master it.
